Privacy Policy

• Account data: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, the name and profile details Google shares with us. We also keep your language, plan and credit balance.
• Your content: prompts, chat edits, files you upload, brand kits, projects and the videos you generate and export.
• Billing data: your plan, purchases and invoices, and the customer ID Dodo Payments gives us. Dodo Payments collects your card or other payment details; we never see or store them.
• Technical data: your IP address, the country it suggests, browser details and logs of requests and errors. We use them to keep the service secure, limit abuse, fix bugs and show prices for your country.
• Messages: what you send us through the contact form, with your name and email address.

• To run maviecut: sign you in, generate, store and export your videos, and keep your projects.
• To bill you and manage your plan and credits, with Dodo Payments.
• To send the emails the service needs, such as sign-in codes and messages about your account or purchases.
• To keep maviecut secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix problems.
• To answer your messages.

We don't sell your personal data, we don't show ads, and we don't use your content to train AI models.

Where laws such as the EU GDPR or Brazil's LGPD apply, we rely on these legal bases: performing our contract with you (running your account and the service), our legitimate interests (security, preventing abuse and improving maviecut), legal obligations (such as keeping billing records), and your consent where we ask for it, which you can withdraw at any time.

We share personal data only with the providers that help us run maviecut, and only what each one needs:

• Anthropic, which provides the AI models that write and edit your videos. It receives your prompts, chat edits and brand kit details, keeps them only for a limited time for safety and abuse checks, and under its commercial terms doesn't use them to train its models.
• Cloudflare, which stores and delivers your uploads, thumbnails and exported videos.
• Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record, which processes payments, taxes, invoices and refunds. Dodo Payments is a controller of the payment data it collects; see Dodo Payments? privacy policy.
• Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
• Email providers, including Resend, which deliver our sign-in codes, account emails and contact form messages.
• Sentry, which receives error reports so we can fix bugs.
• The hosting providers where our servers and database run.

If you publish a video to the public gallery, anyone can see it and its prompt. We may also disclose data when the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or of maviecut.

Our providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States and the European Union. Where the law requires it, these transfers are covered by safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

• Account data and content: while your account is open. Deleting a project removes it from your account; deleting your account deletes your projects, uploads and videos.
• Billing records: as long as tax and accounting law requires, usually several years. After you delete your account they are kept without being linked to your profile where possible.
• Free trial: when you delete your account, we keep a one-way, keyed code made from your email address, so the same address doesn't get the free trial again. It can't be turned back into your address, and we keep nothing else from the account for this.
• Logs and error reports: for a short time, usually no more than 90 days.
• Contact messages: for as long as needed to deal with your request.

Copies in backups are removed as the backups expire.

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or send it to you in a portable format. You can delete your account yourself at any time from Settings.

To use any of these rights, write to us from the contact page or at contact@maviecut.com, using the email address on your account. We'll answer within the time the law sets, usually one month. You can also complain to your local data protection authority, such as your EU country's authority or Brazil's ANPD.

Cookies and local storage are small pieces of data the site keeps in your browser. Under EU law we may use the ones the site needs to work without asking, and need your consent for anything else.

Essential, always on:

• mvc_session: keeps you signed in. It is encrypted and can't be read by scripts on the page. Lasts 30 days.
• mvc_exp: tells the page when your sign-in needs renewing. Lasts 30 days.
• NEXT_LOCALE: remembers your language. Removed when you close the browser.
• mvc_consent: remembers your cookie choices and when you made them. Lasts 6 months, after which we ask again.
• maviecut-theme and maviecut-sidebar-collapsed (local storage): remember your theme and whether the sidebar is open.

Optional, only with your consent: analytics cookies, which count visits and show which pages are used, and marketing cookies, which measure our ads. We don't set any of these today; if we add them, they will stay off until you allow them and this list will name each one.

When you open checkout, Dodo Payments sets its own cookies to take payment and prevent fraud; they are needed for the payment you asked for. Signing in with Google takes you to Google's site, where Google's own cookies apply. To show the fonts in your videos and brand kits, your browser downloads them from Google Fonts, which sees your IP address. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

You can change your choices at any time from Cookie settings at the bottom of any page or in your account Settings. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it and doesn't affect what was done before. You can also delete cookies in your browser's settings.

Data is encrypted in transit, sign-in tokens stay on our servers, and uploaded files are stored under unguessable addresses. No system is completely secure, so if we learn of a breach that affects your data, we'll tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

maviecut isn't meant for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.

We'll update this policy when our practices change. The date at the top shows when it last changed, and we'll tell you by email or in the app about significant changes.
